I began my career failing in the corporate world of marketing and retail buying. Over time and under the guidance of invaluable mentorships—I found my legs in the communication arts. With reference from lauded visual arts Professor Jackson Boelts, I cut my teeth as a junior graphic artist in my university bookstore’s marketing department where I began learning pragmatic design applications for advertisement, production and editorial campaigns.
While navigating the traditional and freelance landscape as a young designer I gained an appreciation for the autonomy that accompanied contract work. Freelancing fostered my entrepreneurial spirit which eventually led me to a regionally competitive promotional printing studio where I was allowed to work on graphics and print techniques after business hours. With the creative freedom I was inspired to pursue an independent study course at university where I examined the pros and cons of vertically integrated business models. Banking on my varied success and experiences I returned to Seattle to nurture and narrow my vision with the target of landing a career igniting partnership.
My goal became a reality when I accepted the role of designer and production artist for a respected apparel brand. My tenure was highlighted with the appointment of creating custom, retail and wholesale works for a who’s who list of entertainment icons, retail conglomerates and institutions of higher learning.
In 2024, with a shifted perspective of the creative industry I founded Vecxi, a visual arts platform offering digital print editions for art collectors looking to grow their collection into the digital space. The aim of Vecxi is to normalize the ownership of digital art and bridge the gap of physical production.
